Nigerian musician Timaya reveals he scored 17 in JAMB.

17? That's right 17!  Was he joking? No way, he was speaking the absolute truth.

Nigerian singing sensation Timaya, the self titled Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa has revealed to us that he scored 17 in his JAMB exams. He says education is not for him, but is advising youths who have passion for it, to stay in school.

At the Star Music Trek held on Saturday 12th April 2014 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Timaya told fans of his grass to grace story.

“Education is not for me”, he said. “It is important, yes, but not for me, I scored 17 in JAMB, That's when I gave up. I don’t have the brain for education but for those of you who do, please go for it, it is good.”

Timaya is a very candid character expressing the truth and still inspiring his massive youthful fans. It is a big credit to him that despite his academic limitations, he has risen to become one of the best entertainers in the African music scene.

**I guess 17 is the mark for attendance!
