Prince Albert of Monaco and wife welcome twins.

Prince Albert II of Monaco and his wife Princess Charlene, have welcomed their twin babies into the world.

The Palace announced that the Princess was delivered today of a baby boy and a baby girl through a cesarean section.

The boy has been named Jacques Honore Rainier and the girl Gabriella Therese Marie . Gabriella was born at 5:04pm followed by Jacques  at 5:06pm.

Despite being born two minutes later, Jacques will be the future Prince of Monaco, because their culture favours the male inheritance laws.

They are the first children for the 36-year-old former South African Olympic swimmer, who married Prince Albert II, 56, three years ago.

Both babies and their mum are reportedly doing well. Continue to see more pictures...
