In Kenya, a man has murdered his wife before being killed by an angry mob at Muting’ong’o village in Kakamega County. The 35 year-old man identified as Francis Muyekho, killed the woman, 23, for allegedly having an illicit affair with his brother.
Neighbours who said that the man came home on Thursday evening and picked a quarrel with his wife and started beating her merciless. “She died at around 2.00am on Thursday morning. After realizing what he had done, he took the body to a river which is 10 meters from their house and covered it with leaves from trees and sugarcane so as to avoid being caught,” Caleb Imbiakha, a neighbour said. Imbiakha added that after killing his wife, the man began looking for his brother who is alleged to have been having an affair with the slain woman.
Malava OCPD Justus Kitetu said neighbours found blood stains in the house and the wife was nowhere to be seen. They later found the body submerged in a river covered with stones and leaves. The brother being sought realised the danger and fled as residents burnt the house of Muyekho and beat him up until he passed on. “Muyekho is a jail bird and has been in custody for various offences including robbery with violence and rape cases. He was out of jail last year and has been barely married for two months,” Kitetu said.

*** Well, this is a sad story and who is to blame for this chain reaction? The man? The wife? The brother in law?
