The US government announced this month that it has frozen $458 millions of Abacha loot. The Nigerian government has indicated that it intends to claim the money and has applauded the efforts of the US government to recover the proceeds of corruption for the benefit of the Nigerian people.
The money has been linked to the Abacha's in accounts and investment portfolio's in France, Britain, British Virgin Islands and the United States.
**And what is the guarantee that this present government would not loot it too, while the masses keep languishing in poverty?
