Does it matter if you are dark or light skinned?

We live in a world which places a substantial importance on appearances and skin colour. People are discriminated against because of their skin colour. Not only is there racial bias, communities of colour are also discriminating against those with darker skin tones.

The 2013 World Health Organisation’s statistic ranked Nigeria as the highest in using skin-lightening products. 77% of Nigerians are said to indulge in skin lightening or toning. It seems that the perception of beauty is glaring. We as a nation prefer light skin to dark skin and majority of Nigerian men prefer light skinned women.

**Nigeria sure knows how to win some weird records! So be honest to yourself, are you in the 77% class or are you in the 23% class?  Please drop your comments and thanks for doing so.

''Yours' truly'' is sitting on the edge between 77% and 23%! Haha.

Let's place more importance on God & eternity. The skin rots when we die no matter the colour. Where are we going to spend eternity? Heaven or hell?
