The World Bank donates additional $100 million towards Ebola health workers.

The World Bank have given an additional $100 million to support the deployment of more health workers to Ebola-ravaged countries in West Africa.

This increases the assistance from the World Bank to more than $500 million.

The money was given in response to appeals from West African and global development leaders for a massive coordinated reinforcement of international health teams to the three countries of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, in order to contain the epidemic.

According to the United Nations estimates, the three countries need another 5,000 international medical, training and support personnel in the coming months. This includes the need for 700 to 1,000 workers to treat patients in Ebola treatment centers.

“The world’s response to the Ebola crisis has increased significantly in recent weeks, but we still have a huge gap in getting enough trained health workers to the areas with the highest infection rates,” said World Bank President Jim Yong Kim. “We must urgently find ways to break any barriers to the deployment of more health workers.”

Kim Kardashian's new book set for release.

Kim Kardashian's much-anticipated book, 'Selfish' is set for a pre-Christmas release and will feature "2000 selfies".

Kim revealed that the book was the brainchild of husband Kanye West and the 352 pages contains thousands of her self-captured photos.

She explained to the Evening Standard Magazine: "Kanye came up with the concept and the name and everything. He introduced me to the book publisher. And I was like, 'This is such a good idea, I can't believe I didn't think of it.' It's 352 pages and multiples on the page, so I turned in probably 2000 selfies.''

She added: "I've been taking selfies for a long time - it's now seen as such a vain thing, but it really started off with me just having a camera around to capture memories. They're selfies taken over a decade."

She even gave her top tips on how to take the best selfies explaining: "Lighting is key. I think a lot of people take a lot of selfies before they actually post one. So, in the book you'll definitely see ... like I posted this one selfie of myself in a white bathing suit, after I had the baby ... it was kind of like from the back in the mirror... and I took about 10 shots to get that one. So I'm probably going to put all ten in there."

*Talk of vanity!

President Mugabe not stepping down yet.

Veteran Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, feels he is entitled to be president for life. Despite being in power since the country gained independence from Britain in 1980, the 90-year-old Mugabe is not dreaming of quitting.

There has been serious unrest in his party the ZANU-PF, with people saying that he is too old to continue. This is his response to them:

“Some are saying ‘Mr Mugabe is old so he should step down’. Me, who brought the party to where it is now, who experienced colonial rule, jail and was in the bush alongside the freedom fighters?
Then along comes a mere child. No! when my time comes I will tell you.”

His remarks came after his wife Grace Mugabe claimed in mid-October that Vice President Joice Mujuru was threatening to tear the ZANU-PF party apart and plotting to overthrow the veteran president. She called on Mujuru to resign or be forced to step aside.

Mujuru and powerful Justice Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa are seen as the leading contenders to replace the president, however  there are speculation that Mrs Mugabe could be aiming to take over from her husband when he steps down or dies following her surprise nomination to lead the powerful women’s wing of ZANU-PF.

Actress Tina Mba gives marriage advice.

In the spate of so many celebrity marriage break ups, actress Tina Mba, has given her own piece of advice saying that if people can’t stay married, the best thing to do is to never get married in the first place.

'I have two lovely children.  But what I know about marriage is that it is an institution laid down by God, so it is sacred. What I tell people is that if you can’t stay married, please, do not go into it. Marriage is a burden; it is a huge responsibility.'

'If you are not ready for it, don’t go there. Marriage is not about having a lavish ceremony.
But it is about you and what you truly feel and how you tend to make it work. What I am saying is that if you can’t keep it together, don’t venture into it. People marry for different reasons. If you are an actress, a wife and a mother, you should know your responsibility is more.'

'Because you are married, you cannot go on a movie set and start giving excuses. You know you will be losing your jobs little by little. The directors understand, so they will be giving you slacks. You do not have to kiss and hug all the time.'

“Among thousands or perhaps millions of people in the entertainment industry, I felt honoured to be chosen as the brand ambassador. The deal means a lot, not just to me but also to my fans.
