Doctor's strike contributed to Amaka Igwe's death.

The ongoing doctor's strike action in Enugu State might have contributed to the death of Film maker, director and producer Amaka Igwe.

Her broken-hearted husband, Charles, has narrated the events leading up to the death of his wife. He said 'We were in Enugu preparing for her new soap, and Amaka was taking some of the people through acting when she had an asthma attack. After using inhaler without success, she was taken to a nearby hospital, but we were told that the doctor was not around.'

'We then went to the teaching hospital in Enugu, where we were again told that the doctors were on strike. It was while we were taking her to another hospital that she died.'

Charles painfully disclosed this while receiving delegates from the national executive of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) who paid him a condolence visit days ago.

Remember the 17-year-old Ghanaian-American Kwasi Enin, who made headlines in April for being accepted into 8 ivy league universities including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell and Columbia. The young man has disclosed his choice school and it is YALE!

On 1st May 2014, Kwasi made the announcement at the gymnasium of his school,William Floyd High School. He told them that he will be attending Yale in the fall.

“My Bull Dog Days experience last week was incredible,” he said, referring to his New Haven campus visit.

“I met geniuses from all across the world. And everyone there was so friendly and inviting. And I believe that their deep appreciation and love for music, like I have, was very critical for me deciding to go there.”

Football goes 'banana' to support Dani Alves over racism.

In the aftermath of the banana throwing incident, where a banana was thrown from the crowd at Barcelona defender Dani  Alves during a game between Barcelona and Villarreal, several footballers and other people, in a show of solidarity have taken pictures with bananas and posted them online.

After the match, Alves spoke about the incident; “We have suffered this in Spain for some time, you have to take it with a dose of humour. We aren’t going to change things easily. If you don’t give it importance, they don’t achieve their objective. I don’t know who it was, but thanks to whoever threw the banana, the potassium gave me the energy for the two crosses which led to a goal.”
